After hearing what Riley Gaines and her husband have had to go through with the United States immigration system, it’s no wonder millions of people have chosen to do it the wrong way.
As President-elect Donald Trump heads back to the White House, it’s more obvious than ever that America’s immigration system needs a serious overhaul. This not only includes tightening up security on the U.S.-Mexico border, but a streamlining of the legal immigration process as well.
Gaines, a female athlete and activist, detailed the difficulties she and her husband are facing while trying to get him a green card more than two years after they were married.
This is straight up craziness. The husband of @Riley_Gaines_ is , yet has faced over in the process to become an American citizen.

She revealed that the hangup was due to her husband not having the COVID-19 vaccine.
“Yes, you heard that right. In the year 2024 you have to have the underresearched, ineffective COVID vaccine to enter into this country legally,” she said. “Notice I said ‘legally’ because our government illegal immigrants to have the COVID vaccine.”
It is effectively easier to break into the United States than it is to come over the proper way, which makes it a no-brainer for those who don’t have the time, money, or desire to deal with all of the hoops the government wants you to jump through. Even billionaire X owner Elon Musk, who also had to go through this process, agreed.
“Legal immigration to America is ridiculously slow & difficult, even for super talented people. Needs to be fixed,” he wrote, sharing Gaines’ video.
Other X users agreed:
Accelerate legal immigration. Merit system to recruit the best talent from all over the world. Turn America into a tight elite high performance team. Stop *all* illegal immigration. Run proper censuses so we know who is even here. Fix the voting system, same day paper ballots.…

Agreed completely.. If you’re married you should get citizenship.. It shouldn’t be a complicated/long/expensive process.

Not to mention expensive. $10k for my wife to get a basic temp. green card.

It’s unfortunate that there is a backlog for legitimate applicants while those who are illegal have free access to work authorization and social security benefits.

Its hard to process legal citizenship requests when you are busy with making certain illegals are comfortably housed.

My wife is in the middle of the same struggle, except she is not yet in the country, so we keep enduring forced separation so that I can go home to Alaska to work each summer. Imagine the expense of having to provide 8 months per year to live in a foreign country.
