Illinois governor JB Pritzker capitalized on Transgender Awareness Week to advance the same radical agenda which handed the Democratic Party a humiliating defeat just weeks prior.
The ranking Democratic governor promised more protections for gender-affirming care amidst fears of a potential federal crackdown after Trump’s landslide victory. Trump’s Health Secretary nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is a staunch opponent of trans treatments, especially for minors.
“This Transgender Awareness Week, I want you to know that I see you and have your back as governor,” Pritzker wrote on X. “Illinois has enshrined protections for gender-affirming care to meet this moment — and because of that, you will have a home here always.”
Perhaps inspired by his cousin James Nicholas Pritzker, a transitioned male individual who now identifies as a “woman” named “Jennifer,” Pritzker has made Illinois a transgender haven.
On the Land of Lincoln, “transgender, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming” individuals receive various forms of government assistance and recognition and have additional privileges unavailable for ordinary residents.
In 2021 Gov. Pritzker introduced various protections for “transgender, nonbinary and gender nonconforming students” as part of the Illinois Human Rights Act of 1979. Pritzker claims the move would allow classrooms to be “welcoming, affirming, and inclusive for all students.” And while Trump was serving his first term, he announced that Medicaid would now cover sex change surgeries.
Additionally, Illinois schools allow biological boys identifying as girls to compete against biological girls in sports, which most Americans oppose, according to various polls.
Similarly, boys who identify as girls can use girls’ bathrooms regardless of their level of transition, which could allow intact men to share secret personal space with vulnerable young girls.
As just alluded to, individuals under 21 years can also use Medicaid to pay for transgender-related medical procedures. Minors are also among the recipients of supposedly “gender-affirming” (i.e. delusion affirming) medical procedures of which 72 percent of Americans want banned – including 86 percent of Republicans and 58 percent of Democrats.
According to the Stop the Harm Database, Illinois residents have made about $642,091 in confirmed and tracked gender-affirming claims, including $279,980 relating to minors. The number is likely higher than the database could track.
Despite Illinois’s rock-solid allegiance to the Democratic Party, Harris inched closer to losing the state against Trump by 53.4 percent to 45.0 percent compared to Biden’s 57.54 percent against Trump’s 40.55 percent in 2020.
Additionally, Harris’s performance was the worst for a Democratic presidential candidate in the state for over three decades since President Bill Clinton received 48.6 percent of Illinois votes in 1992.
While Gov. Pritzker promises more protections against the federal government, the transgender issue is a losing point for Democrats as most American voters oppose trans-related medical procedures for children and biological boys competing against girls.
Several moderate Democrats have openly addressed the transgender issue, while radical Leftists like Gov. Pritzker are dug in and wish to advance the radical agenda against the will of the American voters.
In November 2024, Rep. Tom Suozzi (NY-D-3) even warned the Democratic party against pandering to the far Left on the issue.
“The Democrats have to stop pandering to the far left,” he told the New York Times. “I don’t want to discriminate against anybody, but I don’t think biological boys should be playing in girls’ sports.”
Similarly, Rep. Seth Moulton disclosed that the Democratic Party stifled healthy debate on contentious issues, such as gender and identity, thus losing touch with the electorate.
“Democrats spend way too much time trying not to offend anyone rather than being brutally honest about the challenges many Americans face,” Moulton said.
Gov Pritzker is a potential Democratic Presidential candidate in 2028. However, his adherence to the transgender agenda will definitely hand him a humiliating defeat in his own party or nationally if the party sticks to its guns on the transgender issue.
