Former U.S. Solicitor General Theodore “Ted” Olson passed away on November 13 of a stroke at the age of 84. 

Olson won on behalf of George W. Bush in the 2000 presidential election Florida recount case that was ultimately decided by the U.S. Supreme Court, delivering the presidency to Bush.

He served under Bush as solicitor general from 2001 to 2004.

Olson argued on behalf of same-sex marriage before the Supreme Court and won.

Olson was an active member of The Federalist Society.
