Ed is still on reduced writing duty, so once again I am fulfilling our duty to point out important or interesting things that happened today but didn’t make it into our blog posts for one reason or another.

For me the biggest and best news of the day is the appointment of Tulsi Gabbard to the position of Director of National Intelligence.
Honestly, I was a bit worried that she would have been made Secretary of Defense, where she would have done a fine job but not be in a position to do what I think she can do best: push back against the domestic security state.

Normally you wouldn’t think of the DNI as being focused on domestic issues, and that is how it should be. Unfortunately, the intelligence “community” has been weaponized against Americans, and I think Tulsi is just the person to return the agencies to focusing on their proper roles.
There has always been too much overlap between our foreign intelligence agencies and domestic politics, but under Obama the CIA, NSA, and all the alphabet agencies became a weapon the transnational elite used to keep Americans in line. Homeland Security targeted Gabbard herself, and the CIA, NSA, and FBI were famously weaponized against Trump and his allies.
Let’s hope she gets them under control.

If you haven’t come to trust my judgment, what is WRONG with you?
I have been saying for a long time now that J.D. Vance was a superb choice for VP by Donald Trump, and I have been proven 100% right. Unlike almost every Vice Presidential choice in history, Vance moved votes to Trump.

“I was so impressed by JD Vance, the way he carried himself and how normal he appeared.”
Hearing stuff like this a lot. So can we all agree that the “JD Vance is weird” talking point was the biggest campaign messaging fail in recent history? https://t.co/g8aryBOPfr
— Abigail Jackson 🇺🇸 (@abigailmarone) November 13, 2024
He didn’t do it by pandering, vapid fanboying, or being super political. He did it by being smart and normal. Once people got to know him they warmed to him.
More than that, Trump clearly trusted Vance. J.D. was at least an equal partner in messaging. Trump gave him the portfolio of being the press’ foil, and he excelled at the job. Trump was the marketer, but J.D. did most of the product sales. He explained Trump’s policies, ran circles around the media, and appealed to normal people.
In other words, I was right!

Kamala Harris has already been revealed to be a fraud, but as people sort through her campaign finance reports they keep finding ridiculous items that prove her strategy was based almost solely on buying support. She paid Beyonce, Oprah, countless “influencers,” and…Al Sharpton.
EXCLUSIVE @FreeBeacon:
Kamala Harris campaign gave $500k to Al Sharpton’s nonprofit just before a glowing interview with the MSNBC host.
The remittance to Rev. Al part of $5.4 million that Harris gave to black and Latino groups. https://t.co/tZfhxfQKun

Sharpton has always been a grifting charlatan, but you would have expected that the MSNBC blowhard would have given her a tongue bath without getting paid.
Nope.

Trump once joked that there would be so much winning under his presidency that we would get tired of it.
I’m not there yet, but this makes me one step closer to that point, if it is possible.

In which Whoopi Goldberg, who wanted Jill Biden, the “excellent doctor,” to be Surgeon General, explains why Pete Hegseth is unqualified to be Secretary of Defense:
Despite Hegseth’s decades of military service, Whoopi claims he “clearly does not know anything about the military.”

Liberal meltdowns, when they don’t result in actual violence, can be hilarious to watch. I was this many years old when I learned that the heart emoji was racist, sexist, homophobic, and Nazi.
Liberals will NO longer be using the red heart emoji, because it resembles MAGA…

Liberals are leaving X in droves. This happened before when Elon took over, and it stuck as well as Jen Rubin’s resignation from the Washington Post. It won’t last, or will never happen in many cases. X is where people talk.
Lmao Don Lemon announces his exit from 𝕏
Why do people feel the need to do this?
Just go.
So dramatic.

On the other hand, if the liberals do stay away it will be good for conservatives. Not because our being in a bubble is a good thing–it decidedly is not!–but because liberals already are in too small a bubble, and the smaller their bubble gets, the more out of touch they become.

In my Sunday Smiles I do a lot of dog and cat videos. Tonight I celebrate the government adopting D.O.G.E.
Trump announced the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) which will be led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy.

George Orwell’s 1984 was not supposed to be an instruction manual, Britain.
An all new level of dystopian hell. Very hard to see how charging someone with a ‘non-crime’ hate incident whilst refusing to disclose to them any further details can possibly be consistent with basic principles of natural justice.
