Former President Donald Trump on Thursday announced that he would organize a year-long celebration to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States and host a “great American state fair” in Iowa.
“Three years from now, the United States will celebrate the biggest and most important milestone in our country’s history: 250 years of American independence,” Trump said in a video announcement.
“As a nation, we should be preparing for a most spectacular birthday party,” he added. “On day one, I will convene a White House task force called ‘Salute to America 250,'” he promised.
Trump aims to hold a year-long celebration from Memorial Day 2025 through July 4th, 2026 and hold the “Great American State Fair” on the Iowa state fairgrounds, featuring pavilions that will “showcase the glory of every state in the Union.”
“As we chart a course towards the next 250 years, let us come together and rededicate ourselves as one nation, under God,” he concluded.
