President-elect Donald Trump’s friends and frenemies in global capitals gave him glowing congratulations on his commanding victory in last night’s election, using similarly triumphant language in posts collected by Fox News.

Israeli Prime Mininster Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara praised the nonconsecutive termer and second-time First Lady Melania Trump on “history’s greatest comeback!” in an X post. “Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America.”

“The biggest comeback in US political history!” Hungarian PM Viktor Orban exulted. “A much needed victory for the World!” Another politician often compared to Trump, India PM Narendra Modi, gave his “heartiest congratulations” to my friend @realDonaldTrump on your historic election victory, which will “build on the successes of your previous term.”

Ukraine PM Volodymyr Zelensky, whose country is heavily dependent on the U.S. in its war with Russia, called Trump’s victory “impressive” and praised their “great meeting” in September that included “ways to put an end to Russian aggression against Ukraine.” He touted Trump’s “peace through strength” approach as “the principle that can practically bring just peace in Ukraine closer” along with “continued strong bipartisan support” in the U.S.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Australian PM Anthony Albanese and U.K. PM Keir Starmer were more reserved, reminding Trump of their countries’ historic relationships with the U.S. and with Trump personally, though Starmer also used “historic” to describe Trump’s win.

“Ready to work together as we did for four years,” Macron wrote. “With your convictions and mine. With respect and ambition. For more peace and prosperity.”
