Americans United for Life CEO John Mize released the following statement regarding the results of the presidential election:

With a Trump administration, we have a renewed opportunity to advance pro-life protections across states and the nation and to implement lasting, pro-family policies. We are ready to collaborate with leaders at every level to secure strong safeguards for life and to support policies that uplift all American families. Our organization has always stood as a beacon of strength in the fight for the human right to life, and we look forward to building on this momentum.

We are enthusiastic to offer the Trump-Vance administration policy and academic resources that defend the protection of the preborn from abortion and the elderly and sick from physician-assisted suicide and euthanasia. We call on President Trump to rescind the dangerous executive actions of the current administration, including those that ignore Dobbs, that traffic lethal abortion pills into American neighborhoods, and that fund abortions for military service members. In the pro-life movement, we see causes for hope every day. This victory is one more.

AUL’s Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel, Steven H. Aden, commented: 

After four years of top-down abortion policy, the election of President-elect Trump presents a historic opportunity to promote pro-life and pro-family policies. We urge the Trump-Vance Administration to support and protect mothers and the unborn by committing to nominating the same type of Justices and judges as President Trump nominated in his first term, those who will uphold the constitution, as well as Cabinet secretaries and agency administrators who seek to protect life in the womb. Action must start with rescinding current life-ending policies and protecting pro-life federal statutes and appropriations riders.

We urge President Trump to reinstate the expanded Mexico City/Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance Policy (PLGHA) and the Title X Rule against referring for elective abortion, as well as a host of other life-affirming policies of his first administration. We call upon the Trump-Vance Administration to lead by giving much needed support to families and mothers in all stages of growth, including pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum, as well as to their children, born and unborn. Americans United for Life stands ready to once again be a legal resource to this administration from conception to natural death and to continue our work to preserve human life and dignity from assisted suicide, human cloning, surrogacy, and other life demeaning acts.
