The week after billionaire Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban apologized to women who work for President-elect Donald Trump for saying they weren’t “strong” or “intelligent,” the Kamala Harris campaigner issued a simple and unqualified congratulations to Trump and his fellow billionaire Elon Musk, who campaigned for Trump.
“Congrats @realDonaldTrump. You won fair and square. Congrats to @elonmusk as well. #Godspeed,” Cuban wrote on Musk’s X.
He got a mixed response in comments, with American Commitment founder Phil Kerpen asking the businessman to “volunteer to serve on Musk’s government efficiency commission. It won’t succeed if it’s partisan.”
“Would love to see Donald Trump and Mark Cuban work together on fixing the healthcare industry in America,” cryptocurrency influencer Matt Wallace wrote, alluding to Cuban’s discount drug retailer Cost Plus Drugs.
“Shazam” actor Zachary Levi, who endorsed Trump, praised Cuban for “taking the high road in defeat.”
“You backed the vicious lawfare that targeted” Trump and Musk, Australian media personality Rita Panahi wrote. Many commenters gave variations of thanking Cuban for energizing female Trump voters with his comments.
