Responding to criticism of former President Donald Trump’s final message to voters, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said former President Donald Trump is “going to punch back” against his critics.

CNN host Anderson Cooper questioned Rubio about Trump’s choice to attack Nancy Pelosi, Fox News reported, rather than focusing on key issues, such as the economy and border security.

“This is a guy who’s been compared to Adolf Hitler,” Rubio countered, referring to statements made across multiple media outlets.

Cooper pointed out that Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, has also made the comparison, statements Vance has repeatedly disavowed

Rubio returned the discussion back to unfair treatment he said Trump has received during the campaign.

“Maybe it wasn‘t your network, although I could point to things in your network that label anything he says as violent rhetoric, including jokes and including things that are clearly off the cuff. But he has a unique communication style, and he is not going to change the day before. This is the guy who has been subjected to relentless and ruthless attacks against his character, against everything you can imagine. Yeah, he is going to punch back. There’s no doubt about it. That’s going to happen,” Rubio said.
