Teleprompter troubles triggered a foul-mouthed tirade from one rapper in the wake of her botched endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris.

“B*tch, I had to write that sh*t down.”

The final stretch of the 2024 election included a wave of celebrities making their pitch to maintain the status quo in Washington, D.C. Among them was New York City rapper Cardi B, born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, who joined the Democratic Party candidate at a rally Friday in Wisconsin, readily tarnished by a teleprompter glitch.

After departing the stage, the “WAP” performer went live on Instagram to her fans, railing in an expletive-filled rant against those who spoke negatively about the speech.

“I worked so hard, bro. I worked so hard on my speech and a lot of y’all talkin’ about like ‘Oh why are you reading it from a phone?’” she said. “B*tch, I had to write that sh*t down!”

Explaining how she would practice arguments with people, Cardi B went on to state, “And you know what, I forget what I be telling. I’ll be like damn, I was in the f*cking shower for 30 minutes… But you know what, then when I be face-to-face, I be forgetting.”

“So you know, when it comes to this sh*t right here, I been knew what I’ve been wanting to say, but I had to make sure I ain’t forget, so I wrote that sh*t the f*ck down,” she went on. “Y’all gonna hear what the f*ck I had to say and I’m proud of myself.”

As was previously reported, the rapper had experienced issues with her teleprompter, leading to someone delivering her a phone on stage from which she could read the rest of her speech.

Instagram Live wasn’t the only place where she clapped back at detractors. She also had choice words for billionaire Elon Musk after he criticized the display on X writing, “Another puppet who can’t even talk without being fed the words.”

Cardi B responded, “I’m not a puppet Elon.. I’m a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their a** off to provide for me! I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of section 8, I’m a product of poverty and I’m a product of what happens when the system is set up against you….But you don’t know nothing about that. You don’t know not one thing about the American struggle…. PS fix my algorithm.”

The entertainer also shared some insight into an alleged exchange between herself and the vice president, claiming that Harris who had been “studying” throughout the administration while she was essentially powerless, “was like, ‘Watch, I’m gonna change this sh*t the f*ck up, I promise you.’ I was like, ‘Oh, yo, she’s a little gangsta.’… And I believe in her.”

“But like, yo, I really did that sh*t. Like a b*tch was really strippin’ on poles and all, and I’m here,” she added of her own background that had preceded her being on stage endorsing a candidate for president.

The excuse along with its delivery didn’t land well with social media users who contrasted the scripted nature of the Harris campaign with many of the heartfelt remarks from supporters of former President Donald Trump.
