Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance traveled to Austin, Texas, to sit down with Joe Rogan for a wide-ranging conversation on a number of topics, including Voter ID.

It was during this discussion that Rogan made a rather startling observation, given the stiff opposition by Democrats to require identification to vote, stating matter-of-factly, “For Trump to win, he has to win by an enormous margin to overcome a lot of these shenanigans.”

“The one that drives me the most crazy is this idea that somehow or another, it’s discriminatory to require ID to vote,” Rogan said. “That could only mean — I’ve tried to look at this from the most charitable position outside of — it only makes sense if you’re trying to cheat. You need an ID for everything. You need an ID to rent a car.”

Vance pointed out California passed a law essentially making it illegal to ask for identification to vote, suggesting the next time a resident there gets pulled over for a traffic stop they should just tell the officer that they are on their way to vote.

“If you can’t require people to show voter ID, then I think you’re inviting fraud into your system,” he said. “And there’s also something implicitly very racist about this because what they say is voter ID means that black people aren’t gonna vote. Well, number one, if you look at polls the same level of support for voter ID exists in the black community as in the white community.”

“But they’re basically saying that black people can’t get identification when they say that Voter ID is racist,” he added. “They’re implicitly saying black people can’t get identification. I think that’s an actual racist concept concept.”

Rogan agreed that Democrats are “fundamentally just gaslighting.”

“You’re trying hard to make your point because you want people to be able to vote that maybe shouldn’t be voting,” he said. “And then there’s all these lawsuits where they’re counting votes that they know to be illegitimate or they’re saying that there’s a certain amount of people that are in the system that they are gonna — they want to keep in there, which is crazy. So you’re saying you want people that shouldn’t be allowed to vote to vote.”

Vance spoke about the legal battle in Virginia to wipe noncitizens from the voter rolls, with the Biden-Harris administration suing the state — the Supreme Court just ruled in favor of Gov. Youngkin.

“There’s no argument for this other than you want to facilitate cheating,” said Donald Trump’s running mate.

“But the fact that the left has no problem with this because they just want to win is insane,” Rogan interjected, prompting Vance to accurately note that the media cannot be counted on to hold their feet to the fire.

“It’s wild. So it’s like for Trump to win, he has to win by an enormous margin to overcome a lot of these shenanigans,” he added.

“Well, as President Trump says, we want to make it too big to rig,” Vance chimed in.
