Who are you going to believe, the White House stenographers at MSNBC or your own lying eyes?

Last night, literally at the exact same moment as Vice President Kamala Harris‘s “closing argument” speech to supporters outside of the White House, President Joe Biden was inside speaking on a Zoom call with a liberal nonprofit group, during which he very clearly said, “Donald Trump has no character. He doesn’t give a damn about the Latino community … just the other day, a speaker at his rally called Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage? … The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.”

First tweeted out by NBC News White House correspondent Gabe Gutierrez, Politico’s Jonathan Lemire, who was recently hired to be a host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, tried to clean the comment up, saying Biden was using the possessive of “supporter” to refer just to the comedian who made a joke about Puerto Rico.

“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporter’s — his — his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American,” Lemire rewrote Biden’s quote. 

The White House then quickly released a “transcript” of the call that included the apostrophe. However, when asked by Axios if it talked to Biden before posting the transcript to confirm that is what he meant, the White House declined to comment. 

The next morning on MSNBC, Lemire was back, this time reading from the White House transcript to assert that Biden didn’t say what everybody knows he said. Oddly, MSNBC chose not to actually play the video of what Biden said so viewers could make up their own minds.

It is particularly rich that Democrats are trying to deny that Biden just called the almost half of the country who will vote for Trump next Tuesday “garbage” since they also just spent the past three days calling all Trump supporters Nazis.

If Democrats honestly believe Trump held a “Nazi rally” at Madison Square Garden on Sunday night, which is what they have been saying repeatedly for days now, then it would stand to reason that the people at that rally were Nazis too.

From former President Barack Obama saying Republican voters “cling to guns and religion,” to Hillary Clinton calling the deplorables, to Harris calling them fascists, the Democratic Party’s obvious disdain for people outside their political coalition is clear. 

Of course Biden called Trump supporters garbage. That is exactly what you say about people you’ve already been calling Nazis. Democrats’ inability to admit what Biden said is just a pathetic attempt at gaslighting.
