GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign alleged Tuesday that liberal activists are impersonating election officials in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in order to suppress voting.
“Radical leftists are trying to intimidate voters and interfere with Pennsylvanians’ right to cast their ballots,” Trump’s campaign said in an emailed statement.
The campaign alleges that the activists wear fake badges and identify as “Voter Protection” agents that have attempted to intimidate voters and suppress their votes.
Trump’s campaign called on the Pennsylvania Election Threats Task force and the Department of Justice to investigate the alleged actions of these activists.
“Governor Shapiro and Secretary Al Schmidt have promised a fair and secure election for all Pennsylvanians. They must deliver,” the campaign said.
Pennsylvania has already been in the news for election integrity this week. Republican National Convention Chairman Michael Whatley announced Wednesday that the GOP had won a lawsuit against Bucks County, Pennsylvania, alleging voter suppression.
