Oh biscuits, this is quite the story right here.

40,061 stolen Bluey coins!

What kind of a grub steals that many Bluey coins???

Well, police have nabbed three of the four suspects, so let’s hope there’s some dobbing involved here (that’s snitching) and they can bring in that fourth suspect.

Police even named the operation “Strike Force Bandit” after Bluey’s dad.

Here’s what happened:

The Bluey coins, with a face value of one Australian dollar (65 U.S. cents) each, were found Tuesday afternoon in a self-storage business in the Sydney suburb of Wentworthville, a police statement said …

The 40,061 recovered coins were still in the Royal Australian Mint plastic bags that they were stolen in three months earlier, police said.

Police were notified on July 12 that 63,000 of the yet-to-be-released series of coins produced by the national mint in Canberra had been stolen from a warehouse in the Sydney suburb of Wetherill Park, not far from where the coins were recovered on Tuesday.

I’m thinking if you’re going to steal 40,000+ Bluey coins you might want to get them the heck out of town before you get caught. Blue Heelers like Bluey, they can catch the scent of a Bluey coin from miles away.

Aussie authorities are still on the lookout for about 23,000 of these coins (and also that other suspect). These things are selling online for $10 a pop, so these leftover coins could potentially fetch a cool quarter mil.

Alright, I’m not leaving here without getting this stuck in your head.

You’re welcome!
