Former President Donald Trump hit back at comments from President Joe Biden seemingly calling his supporters “garbage.”
“This week, Kamala has been comparing her political opponents to the most evil mass murderers in history,” Trump said during a rally in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. “And now, speaking on a call for her campaign last night, Joe Biden finally said what he and Kamala really think of our supporters.”
“He called them garbage, and they mean it, even though, without question, my supporters are far higher quality than crooked Joe or lyin’ Kamala,” he declared.
Biden on Tuesday evening addressed comments from comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage” during his set at Madison Square Garden.
“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,” Biden said.
The White House later released a transcript with the word reading “supporter’s” and Biden himself clarified that he meant to refer to Hinchcliffe’s comments, The Hill reported.
But Republicans aren’t buying it.
“Joe Biden’s comments were the direct result of Kamala’s and Tim Waltz. You know, you know that is his decision to portray everyone who isn’t voting for them as evil or sub humans,” Trump insisted. “You’re not sub human. I’m looking at you are not sub human, and we know it’s what they believe. Because look how they’ve treated you. They’ve treated you like garbage.”
