Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah announced a new leader on Tuesday and Israel described him as a “temporary” replacement.

Israel killed the group’s previous leader, Hassan Nasrallah, in Beirut more than one month ago.

“Temporary appointment. Not for long,” Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said in a post on X along with a photo of Naim Qassem, the new leader.

According to the Reuters, Qassem was named Hezbollah’s deputy chief in 1991.
