Doubling down on projection, Joe Scarborough dredged up his own congressional controversy to lash out at the former president for “making the pain worse.”

A front story from the New York Times prompted the MSNBC host of “Morning Joe” to bring up the “unsolved mystery” of his own aide’s death as a means to further demonize former President Donald Trump one week out from Election Day.
Displayed for viewers by co-host and wife Mika Brzezinksi, Scarborough pivoted off the newspaper’s continued coverage of Ohio parents who’d lost their son to a Haitian-born man to sound off on Trump’s previous references to the 2001 death of Lori Klausutis.
“When Donald Trump decided to attack me because he didn’t like my COVID coverage and he lied about a woman who worked in my office, claimed that we were involved and that I had her killed, and her husband, the widowed husband, begged him to stop lying because of the excruciating pain that it put her parents through and put him through — the fact that he had not been able to move on for 20 years, 25 years because of the lies,” ranted the former Florida lawmaker. “They could not find rest or peace. And Donald Trump didn’t care. He just kept doing it ’cause he didn’t care what the family thought.”
“He didn’t care what the husband thought. He didn’t care [about] the people whose grief he was only making worse,” contended Scarborough as he himself brought up the years-old story.
Previously, in 2020, Trump had suggested the “opening of a Cold Case against Psycho Joe Scarborough” referring to the 2001 death of Klausutis in the then-congressman’s office that had been ruled accidental after a medical examiner said an undiagnosed heart condition had led the woman to faint. Tragically, her head had struck a desk.
The widower Timothy Klausutis had written then-Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey asking for the tweets to be deleted.
In 2017, Scarborough floated the 25th Amendment be used against Trump after he wondered if the host would get fired like Matt Lauer had following the incident.
“And will they terminate low ratings Joe Scarborough based on the ‘unsolved mystery’ that took place in Florida years ago?” asked Trump while naming Phil Griffin and Andy Lack. “Investigate!”
As a result, the “Morning Joe” host slammed the president as “completely detached from reality” while claiming a source within the White House was referring to Trump as “mentally unfit.”
Meanwhile, it was the Times’s coverage of the parents of Aiden Clark — the 11-year-old boy killed when a Haitian-born man had struck the school bus he was riding, leading to a conviction of manslaughter and vehicular homicide — that, like Scarborough’s own story, continued to keep tragedies in the headlines.
“I can’t imagine the pain those parents are going through. And then to watch their son, their child used as a political prop, to be lied about, making the pain worse,” contended the talking head as the president had referenced the death when calling out the crisis in Springfield Ohio wrought by the Biden-Harris administration’s border policies. “If you think this is normal, well you haven’t been around politics long enough, ’cause I can tell you if it happened while I was in Congress — if it happened while Claire [McCaskill] was in the Senate and somebody did this, they would be excommunicated. Nobody would talk to them.”
The attempt to score points on Trump found Scarborough dragged for failing to practice what he preached.
Why would you bring that up Joe??? You are just making that family drag their blanket out again.. How cruel!
