Team Kamalot came up with the not-so-brilliant idea of exploiting the presumed sex appeal of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) — a willing participant — in response to Kamala Harris having little success with young male voters.

The idea involved AOC pairing up with vice presidential nominee Tim Walz on Sunday to live-stream themselves playing Madden football online — never mind that the event would not only be competing against real NFL football but was scheduled the same afternoon that former President Donald Trump was holding a rally at Madison Square Garden.

Walz, who is apparently seen by the campaign as a beacon of masculinity, was once a high school football coach so you’d think he knows the game. But then, a post he shared on X about their game on Twitch would have you thinking otherwise.

“@AOC can run a mean pick 6 – and I can call an audible on a play,” the post read. “And we both know that if you take the time to draw up a playbook, you’re gonna use it.”

The Trump War Room responded to the asinine comment by saying, “Tampon Tim is such a dork. You’d think a so-called football coach would be aware that you don’t run a pick 6!”

A “pick 6” stands for an interception by the defensive unit that was returned for a touchdown. This is not a “play” that can be called, but a spontaneous reaction by the defensive to an attempted pass.

But then, anyone with even a basic knowledge of football would know this. Turns out, the post would soon be deleted:

Social media users lit up Walz for exposing his apparently limited grasp of the game of football… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
