Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and leftist commentator Mehdi Hasan got into a barely coherent war of words this Monday on “Piers Morgan Uncensored.”
While the whole, nearly hour-long back-and-forth exchange was combative, things really took a turn for the worse when the topic of energy production was raised.

“I said that on day one, what the Biden Administration did was halt so much of our expiration and our construction of pipelines,” the discussion began with Palin trying to say as Hasan rudely talked over her.
“And yet we have record energy production,” he said. “I’m not a fan of that, by the way. I think we should have less energy production. I’m a critic of Biden on his energy production.”
“You lie!” Palin responded. “You’re a liar. You lie, yes. And you said, no, Biden didn’t do that. Yes, he did – on day one!”
“Did you know he handed out more licenses than Trump, did you know that?” Hasan then asked.
Fact-check: FALSE.

“I’m making the point that you deny,” Palin replied. “My point is true.”
“Destiny [one of the other leftists on the show] said energy is higher, and you said no,” Hasan barked, cutting her off. “So if anyone lied, you did. People can DVR it. They can rewind it and seeing you saying a false statement.”
Just for the record, while it’s true that current energy production “slightly exceeds previous levels,” energy production should and would be much higher had the Biden-Harris administration not screwed things up, according to University of Chicago economics professor Casey Mulligan.
Writing for National Review over the summer, he noted how oil/gas production skyrocketed during the Trump administration only to slow down dramatically during the Biden-Harris administration because of overregulation. It’s still going up, but just much more slowly than before.
If it weren’t for the Biden Administration’s backwards energy policies, the U.S. would be producing 2-3 million more barrels of oil per day – an added total of $100 billion in our GDP per year.

If we returned to pre-Biden production patterns, the US would be producing 300,000 more barrels of oil a day. #BidenGasHike

Ignoring Hasan’s bull, Palin again tried to ask a question, only for him to continue to rudely interrupt and talk over her.
“So, you don’t think that…,” she said.
“Is energy production higher?” Hasan barked, doubling down.
“You don’t think that Biden…,” Palin again tried to speak.
“Is energy production higher under Biden than Trump?” Hasan asked, tripling down. “Is energy production higher, Sarah Palin? It’s a very simple question. I know facts are not your strong point. Is energy production higher today under Biden than under Trump? It’s a simple yes or no question.”
“You’re an obnoxious ass!” Palin correctly retorted.
“Facts hurt, don’t they? Facts don’t care about your feelings,” Hasan replied.
It’s true, though, facts taken out of context and used deceptively to promote a fallacious point do hurt — they hurt the morons who have the audacity to pull such stunts by making them look bad.
“I’m obnoxious because I ask you if energy production is higher today under Biden than under Trump?” Hasan then asked, continuing the discussion. “That makes me obnoxious?”
“You’re obnoxious because I’m asking you why you would say that Biden didn’t…,” Palin tried again to reply before Hasan obnoxiously cut her off again, not allowing her to convey her full point.
“I mean, I’m obnoxious. You’re a racist. We want to play that game?” Hasan barked.
FYI, Hasan is an antisemitic, pro-Hamas Islamist, so there’s that.
“You said Obama is not born in America,” Hasan continued barking over Palin. “He’s not one of us. He is. Yeah, you said Trump is doing a great job asking for his birth certificate. You said he’s not one of us. You’re gonna call me obnoxious when asked about your racism.”
Palin then asked him why he kept changing the subject instead of just addressing her original point, which was that the Biden-Harris administration drastically slowed down gas/oil production with its executive orders and overregulation.
“Why do you change the subject instead of just answering a question?” she said.
Hasan meanwhile continued barking like a crazed Islamist loon, presumably convincing nobody in the process.
