Both Ed and I have written about The Washington Post’s decision not to endorse Kamala Harris (or Donald Trump, as if a universe existed where either would) today. As you already know, The Los Angeles Times made the same decision earlier.

To be fair, in both cases, it seems that the papers’ owners, both billionaires, nixed the idea. The left thinks that means that billionaires are all in on Donald Trump because he is going to be their bitch or something, and some argue that they are just afraid of Trump. I think the reason is simpler, though: Kamala Harris is terrible and the papers are run by people with TDS.
Liberals go into full meltdown after Jeff Bezos intervened to stop The Washington Post endorsing Kamala Harris. pic.twitter.com/TdYRnX6ZUR

Bezos may also be responding to the persuasion of his fellow tech bros, who have rediscovered their libertarian and entrepreneurial roots after they watched their companies become unmanageable because the leftists they hired are insane. DEI has gutted the talent at these companies and turned them into Maoist camps, and I think that the tide has turned with upper management. Not at the Human Resources departments, but the people who want to get stuff done are likely tired of all the BS.
I am LOVING this meltdown for them. pic.twitter.com/IzFsr0Ze2B

That’s just a guess, though. What I do know is that the rank-and-file “journalists” are in full freakout mode, and it is glorious to watch. The Washington Post’s Karen Attiah thinks she has a target on her back and upper management is fine with Trump killing her or something.

Karen Attiah—The name itself is a kind of Hegelian synthesis of gynocratic, DEI grievance https://t.co/Tw7OScuE35

Jennifer Rubin has yet to speak, but that is likely because she has yet to quit foaming at the mouth and trying to give others intellectual rabies.

The snit fit on the left is glorious because this demonstrates that their power over the culture is not absolute. The total collapse of the Harris campaign (if not, as I keep warning, the collapse of her chance to worm her way into the Oval Office) must be a shock to the system. After decades of cultural, political, and intellectual ascendance, it has all come crashing down. Or at least has started to, despite their remaining in positions of power.
Something magnificent is happening right now.
The most important guy at the Washington Post just resigned after Jeff Bezos BLOCKED them from issuing an endorsement of Kamala Harris.
Joy is departing them. They are now fighting each other in public and throwing tantrums.

I haven’t really written about it, but the transgender ideology movement is getting creamed in the culture. Trump’s ad spend on the issue is huge, and Harris won’t talk about it because Americans are leaving the movement in droves.

I stand with Susan Rice
But I go even further. Every single employee of the Washington Post should resign immediately https://t.co/vl4jnULQku

A FEAST! A FEAST IN HONOR OF THIS MOST WONDERFUL DAY! https://t.co/Tg0nii9021

It’s driving the left crazy because, not so long ago, they were winning on every issue. COVID convinced them that they could do anything and Americans would comply. What pandemic policies actually did is wake a lot of Americans up to the reality that our ruling class are insane hoaxers.
Even for Dems, this level of meltdown is embarrassing.
Whether they formally endorse or not, everyone knows who the Washington Post hopes wins the 2024 election.
And nobody gives a shit. Americans hold mass media in extreme contempt. https://t.co/9t9gOIx2u1

Ironically, even “journalists” know that endorsements move not a single vote anymore. Everybody already knows who the journalists want to win. They telegraph it every day. What bothers them is that they can’t signal to everybody how unanimous the transnational elite is and perform in front of their peers.
Marty Baron, con’t:
“Donald Trump will celebrate this as an invitation to further intimidate The Post’s owner, Jeff Bezos (and other media owners). History will mark a disturbing chapter of spinelessness at an institution famed for courage.”

You do know that the people IN power are the Harris-Biden Administration, right?
This Lefty fantasy world in which President Trump is the guy currently IN power is both demented and funny, but mostly funny. https://t.co/phLWwYozEn

Not that the practical effects matter as much as the statement that they have power and we don’t. Being prevented from insulting normies is what bothers them.
Kamala Harris – “He’s Hitler
Washington Post – “Yeah we’ve thought about it and we’re still not going to endorse you over Hitler. Sorry.”

Yes! Cancel your subscriptions to The Washington Post. It will help save our democracy. https://t.co/hsJybUIVsU

Conservatives are having a lot of fun at the “journalist’s” expense, and why not? It is funny. The explosion of so many heads at once is hilarious.
I just renewed my subscription to the Washington Post

Word on the street is that Bezos entombed the Washington Post endorsement in a golden ark and buried it a snake-filled underground vault in the Egyptian desert
— David Burge (@iowahawkblog) October 25, 2024
The true tragedy of it all is that now we will never know how the journos of the Washington Post would have us vote! 😢

So the objective journalistic value of the Washington Post is such that you cancelled your subscription the moment they decided not to endorse anyone.
So the paper serves no other purpose in your life other than affirming your political beliefs.
Noted.

I am personally waiting for Jennifer Rubin to resign, given her call for Los Angeles Times editors to do so yesterday. I am on the fence about whether she will do so, and have mixed feelings about how I would feel if she does. It will be satisfying to see her go, but also satisfying to make fun of her staying.
Are you going to be courageous and resign from the Washington Post, or are you a coward?
I think we all know the answer, but I want to hear you say it. https://t.co/MKmZHWHYoA
— Sean Davis (@seanmdav) October 25, 2024
Yes because the Washington Post is known for regular positive coverage of Trump, surely, of course, at his demand. https://t.co/nUl1JqO6tY

Which is your favorite Republican news outlet: Fox News, NYT, or Washington Post?
— Jarvis (@jarvis_best) October 25, 2024
The people at the top know that the cultural power of the Narrative™ builders is slipping away, and frankly don’t care if they lose a bunch of employees who are damaging their brand anyway. The Washington Post is bleeding money and bleeding readers, so getting rid of the most insane “journalists” may be a bonus.

The ride is going to get a lot wilder. If these people are freaking out at this, imagine what they will do if and when Trump wins.
Imagine what their READERS will do. I expect violence and riots, to be honest.
