Reactions to the Jewish state’s response to Islamist aggression included notable “partying” from one White House hopeful amid a prolonged silence.

Late Friday in the United States, word of Israel’s response to ongoing missile strikes from Iran got around as the ally reportedly took aim at military targets. While comments and statements filtered in, advanced notice had prompted neither President Joe Biden nor Vice President Kamala Harris for a readymade release, or even a change of plans.

During a campaign rally in Traverse City, Michigan, former President Donald Trump called out the seemingly absentee administration as he told supporters Friday evening, “You know where [Harris] is tonight? She’s out partying. Israel is attacking. We got a war going and she’s out partying. At least we’re working to make America great again. That’s what we’re doing.”

According to details relayed by Israel Defense Forces spokesman Rear Adm. Danial Hagari and other officials in the Israeli military, ongoing missile attacks from Iran and its proxies, most notably on Oct. 1 when a barrage of roughly 200 ballistic missiles had been launched at Israel, had prompted measured self-defense aimed at military targets near the Iranian capital of Tehran and the nearby city of Karaj.

“Iran attacked Israel twice, including in locations that endangered civilians, and has paid the price for it,” said Haragi. “We are focused on our objectives in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. It is Iran that continues to push for a wider regional escalation.”

One official had confirmed to NBC News, that specific targets included facilities used in the production of missiles like those fired weeks earlier. “We’re targeting things that might have threatened us in the past or could do in the future.”

“I can now confirm that we have concluded the Israeli response to Iran’s attacks against Israel,” Hagari stated in a video update. “We conducted targeted and precise strikes on military targets in Iran — thwarting immediate threats to the State of Israel.”

At the time of this post, neither executive in the Biden-Harris administration had released a statement about the strike with the former absconding for yet another weekend away in Wilmington, Delaware as the latter rallied with celebrities in Houston, Texas, including Beyoncé.

“Israel has launched its military response to Iran and Kamala is with Beyonce, Biden is headed to Delaware. The vice president and president are dangerously unserious people,” reacted syndicated radio host Mark Levin.

The White House wasn’t entirely silent amid investigations of leaks from within U.S. intelligence to Iran that had prompted Israel to alter their plans as White House National Security Council spokesperson Sean Savett said, “We understand that Israel is conducting targeted strikes against military targets in Iran as an exercise of self-defense to Iran’s ballistic missile attack against Israel on October 1.”

House House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and other congressional figures weighed in, offering, “Congress stands resolutely behind Israel as our ally strikes in self-defense. The world should know we will fully support Israel if Iran continues its violence.”

Saudi Arabia condemned the attack as a “violation of (Iran’s) sovereignty and a violation of international laws and norms,” according to the Associated Press.

Their foreign ministry went on to insist it was an escalation rather than defense, rejecting the alleged “expansion of the conflict that threatens the security and stability of the countries and people of the region.”
