South Carolina GOP Chairman Drew McKissick said Democrats are worried that Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris has not made a good pitch to voters in the middle.

“They’re worried that she hasn’t made the sale with people in the middle,” McKissick said on the “John Solomon Reports” podcast. “There are people who are going to vote against Donald Trump no matter what and there are people going to vote for him no matter what. They had that sugar high after they did the swap.”

Harris became the Democratic presidential nominee earlier this year after President Joe Biden ended his re-election bid and endorsed her.

McKissick said that some people in the middle were intrigued by Harris, but haven’t been sold on why they should vote for her.

“Part of the reason they haven’t is one….because they know her true issue positions would drive those people away,” he said. “So they thought, ‘Well, let’s just keep things on lockdown, and let’s let the sugar high ride itself out.'”

McKissick went on to praise former President Donald Trump’s campaign strategy as the election approaches.

“In the meantime, you have Donald Trump running around the country having fun….working at McDonald’s, and you know…just doing all kinds of interesting stuff and getting PR and looking like he’s having fun,” he said.
