Carla Marinucci is a journalist who previously worked as the senior political reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle and currently works as the senior writer for POLITICO’s California Playbook.

She wrote the article above in 2021, celebrating the “historic run” of California laws that hampered law enforcement while being soft on criminals.

Preeminent among the bills Newsom signed was a measure enabling California to strip the badges from officers who abuse their authority.

A quick glance at Marinucci’s X profile will show you she is a rabid Trump hater on the far left.

Marinucci asks if having the gas drilled out of your truck is a “California” or “Oakland” thing.

In functioning states, we don’t have holes drilled in our vehicles. In many places, we keep our cars unlocked in the driveway!

You want to know why?

The police arrest criminals and then we keep the criminals in jail.

It’s a crazy concept, I know, but actual justice involves separating the violent maniacs from the rest of society in order to protect said functioning of society.

And if a criminal evades the police, well, in normal places, citizens are allowed to carry specialized tools that delete the bad guys.

But honestly, that’s not what makes me the saddest about this story. Oakland has been a failed city for a while. 👇

No, what makes me the saddest is that even the criminals are getting stupider these days.
