Vice President Kamala Harris sat down with NBC News for an interview but refused to answer one question she was repeatedly asked.

Hallie Jackson, NBC News senior Washington correspondent, was granted a one-on-one interview with Harris and attempted to coax the candidate into revealing if she has any plans to potentially pardon former President Donald Trump should she be elected.

Trump has faced what many refer to as lawfare since he left the White House, being targeted in multiple states by multiple prosecutors. Jackson asked Harris if she “subscribes to the argument” that a president pardoning their political opponent would have a healing effect on America.

“Would you consider if you win and he’s convicted, a pardon for former President Trump?” Jackson asked.

“I’m not going to get into those hypotheticals. I’m focused on the next 14 days,” Harris answered dismissing the question.

But Jackson was persistent and attempted to come at the subject in a different way.

“But do you believe, is there any part of you that subscribes to the argument that has been made in the past that a pardon could help bring America together, could help you unify the country and move them, move on?” she prodded.

“Let me tell you what’s going to help us move on. I get elected President of the United States,” the vice president responded.
