A back-and-forth between Elon Musk and a battleground secretary of state on election integrity found the billionaire slamming her, “I used her full name, because she needed to be scolded.”

“That’s how kids know it’s serious.”

Even now, as early voting is open in states across the country and lawsuits have the federal government fighting to keep illegal aliens from being cleared, voter rolls have remained a major concern heading toward Election Day. While the world’s richest man was doing his part to encourage turnout to defend the Constitution, he also took aim at the discrepancies Michigan’s rolls have between registered voters and the actual number of citizens eligible to vote.

As part of an X feud over the weekend that reached corporate media kicking off the week, Musk reacted to a post from an account that said, “ELECTION INTEGRITY: Michigan FINALLY cleaned its voter rolls of 330,000 dead people and non-citizens. Despite the herculean effort the state STILL has 100,000 more registered voters than eligible citizens. This creates a huge risk of election fr@ud.”

In response,  Musk asked, “Michigan has more registered voters than eligible citizens!? Is that true @CommunityNotes?”

Reacting to some of the points raised by Community Notes, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson (D) accused the SpaceX CEO of “spreading dangerous information and argued, “Here are the facts: There aren’t more voters than citizens in Michigan. There are 7.2 million active registered voters and 7.9 citizens of voting age in our state. Musk is pushing a misleading number that includes 1.2 million inactive records slated for removal in accordance with the law. Don’t feed the trolls.”

Covered by the Community Note and not Benson was the fact that 606,800 inactive voters weren’t slated to be removed until 2027.

Pushing back on the Democrat official’s carefully crafted message, Musk didn’t hold back when he wrote Sunday, “Jocelyn Michelle Benson, shame on you for blatantly lying to the public! You only plan to remove the ineligible voters AFTER this election.”

“That necessarily means that there are far more people registered to vote than there [are] eligible voters,” he contended.

He further followed with a “YES or NO” on the matter of “Are you removing the ineligible voters before the election?” causing Benson to respond with a link to the Michigan government’s website on election facts and the message, “In Michigan we tell the truth and we follow the law. I suggest you do the same.”

To the “YES or NO” question, she replied, “Thanks for asking! Here’s an explainer of all we do to ensure our voter registration database is accurate.”

Of course, as she was in the midst of a media blitz that included appearances on CBS News, MSNBC, and PBS, Benson’s interview with CNN on Monday showed her continuing to take shots at the billionaire as she said, “If you have enough time to Google me and look up my middle name, which you clearly did, you should be able to find out the facts of our elections and post those as well.”

Getting the last word for now, Musk reacted to the clip of her appearance claiming he had made false accusations with the message, “I used her full name, because she needed to be scolded. That’s how kids know it’s serious.”
