Elon Musk’s quest to keep preserving the Constitution top of mind for swing state voters included sweetening the pot to the tune of seven figures — per day.

A close look at the electoral map showed the difference in deciding the outcome of the 2020 presidential election came down to thousands of votes in the battleground states. Acknowledging that every vote could make the difference for 2024, the world’s richest man’s endorsement of former President Donald Trump now included a promise to award $1 million every day until the election just for signing his petition.

“The only thing we ask for the million dollars is that you be a spokesperson for the petition, and that’s it, really,” said Musk Saturday during a town hall in Pennsylvania as he surprised the first winner, John Dreher, with a check.

“We really want to get as many people as possible to sign this petition. So, I have a surprise for you, which is that we are going to be awarding a million dollars to — randomly — to people who have signed the petition every day from now until the election,” he had explained before the Trump-supporting town hall attendee was brought on stage.

“Not everyone’s on X, so, so I figure, how do we get people to know about? Well, this news I think is gonna really fly,” the SpaceX founder said as he made his case that a massive giveaway would force “legacy media” to report on his petition.

As had been reported, initially $47 was all that was being handed out for referrals to swing state voters to sign the America PAC petition that read in part, “The First and Second Amendments guarantee freedom of speech and the right to bear arms. By signing below, I am pledging my support for the First and Second Amendments.”

That sum had since been upped to $100 for signatures before the close of registration in each respective battleground and, with a goal of between 1 million and 2 million voter signatures, Musk explained, “The goal of the $1M/day prize is to maximize awareness of our petition to support The Constitution.”

With that message he shared the statement from Dreher who said, “My name is John and I came here to see Elon Musk and support Trump to be the next president…see everyone in person, attend a great rally and see a lot of patriots together.”

“You know, when he called me, the first thing that happened, you know, I screamed,” noted the winner who was seen pumping his fists in the air as he took the stage and shook the billionaire’s hand. “Actually, meeting Elon, I kinda forget about the money for a little bit, since he’s such an influential figure. You know, for guys my age who are working hard every day, you know it’s important, it’s really important to get out and vote.”

Dreher went on to speak to the benefit of early voting as “anything could happen on Election Day” that might possibly keep someone from casting their ballot

The billionaire, who made clear that the winner wasn’t aware prior to the announcement, noted, “I think this sends a crucial message to our elected politicians to, you know, care about the outcome in battleground states.”

Musk also explained on stage, “I think this is kinda fun. And…it’s seems like a good use of money, basically.”

“We really need to go all-out to protect the Constitution. The Constitution’s there for a reason,” he went on. “It was great wisdom in that document…it is what will save us from tyranny.”
