Back then, they could claim that Cheney and other Republicans were the party of the rich. Now the Republicans are the ones campaigning in the barber shops, while the Democrats are propped up by plutocrats. Obama — still a talented spokesman, don’t get me wrong — but I think we all agree now that he speaks for the establishment, not the people.
