Everything is racist, didn’t you know? It’s racist if you don’t want to enjoy food and drink from other cultures, but it’s also racist if you enjoy food and drink from other cultures too much.

Who decides what “too much” means? Don’t ask questions, you filthy racist!

These two French Canadians pitched their bubble tea product on Dragon’s Den (the Canadian/British version of ABC’s Shark Tank), and were accused of cultural appropriation by Simu Liu – a Chinese-born Canadian actor whose roles include Disney Marvel’s Legend of the Ten Rings and the CBC’s Kim’s Convenience, a show about a Korean family who own a convenience store.

After the company’s founders and its new investor, Manjit Minhas, received widespread woke backlash (including death threats), Liu went on TikTok to ask for empathy and to also double-down.

Then investor Minhas backed out, bowing to the woke online mob.

Then, perhaps worst of all, the makers of the bubble tea apologized too, even thanking Simu Liu for taking a dump on their business dreams!

These days, it’s not enough that the online mob can be driven into a spiral of rage over bubble tea by a celebrity with too much time on their hands. To truly repent, you have to thank the people flushing your business down the toilet.
