The Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua is not only active in Aurora, Colorado but also in New York City and even in San Antonio.
Speaking on local station WNYW this Tuesday, NYPD Detective Bureau Assistant Chief Jason Savino warned that the gang is especially active in the Times Square area, particularly around the former Roosevelt Hotel, which is now a shelter for criminal aliens.
Making matters worse, the gang members are facing “no repercussions” for their bad behavior.

“Right now, what we have I like to call a perfect storm of sorts, where we have individuals — tremendously brazen, absolutely ruthless individuals — that have committed a multitude of crimes with basically no repercussions,” Savino explained.
As an example, he pointed to a robbery crew of 20 individuals responsible for upwards of 50 robberies.
“Out of those 20 individuals, every single one of them is on the streets today,” he said.
Why? Because of the perps’ ages and because of bail reform, Savino said.
“We’re talking about a group that works off of bets, you know, where they’ll stand on a corner and say, hey, I bet you won’t rob that individual,” he said. “If you don’t, you have to lick the transit floor or have to jump towards the train tracks.”
“Things like that sort of repercussion, that sort of empowerment from not being punished — criminality without consequence — that empowerment enables them to really just have the gall to commit these crimes,” he added.
“Tren de Aragua migrant gangbangers at a city-funded Manhattan shelter are pulling off armed robberies in Times Square — and they’re getting away with it… from purse snatchings to gunpoint heists targeting New Yorkers and tourists alike”

Speaking of ages, kids as young as 8 have been found to be involved with Tren de Aragua.
“There’s actually a recruitment process, and this is the first time we’ve seen structure with Tren de Aragua,” Savino explained. “Formerly, it was kind of scattered all over the place, but now we’re seeing that structure where there’s actually kick-ups, where people are recruiting these younger members — as young as 11 — and they’ve been described in some of these robbery incidents as young as eight years old. And when they’re arrested, virtually no repercussions.”
Savino is especially concerned about a gang war breaking out between a TDA subset known as “Los Diablos de la 42” and NYC’s most established gang, the Latin Kings.
“It’s a recipe for potential disaster,” he said.
Savino previously told the New York Post that the gang is communicating with one another via phones issued to them by the Biden-Harris administration.
As noted up top, the gang is also now active in San Antonio, where it’s reportedly commandeered several apartment complexes.
NEW: After being raided and driven out of one apartment complex, Tren de Aragua gang members have reportedly seized control of 3 additional apartment complexes in the San Antonio area.

“[F]our members [of the gang] were arrested in a multi-agency drug bust that took place at an apartment complex on San Antonio’s north side on Oct. 5,” local station KSAT reported last week.
“According to San Antonio police, they were charged with narcotics violations, human smuggling, and threats to apartment employees at the complex on Sahara Drive near Highway 281,” the reporting continued.
According to an exclusive report by the Daily Mail, the gang has seized at least three other apartment complexes in San Antonio.
“At these properties, residents and workers described Venezuelan men flooding the buildings in recent months,” the Daily Mail reported. “They claimed the new arrivals stand out partly because they have gone out of their way to intimidate anyone they come across.”
“They act like they own the place,” one anonymous resident told the outlet. “There’s one Venezuelan here – they call him ‘the boss,’ and his face is covered in tattoos. I’m honestly afraid of him.”
