The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles on Wednesday voted against clemency for a man facing execution in a shaken baby syndrome case.
Robert Roberson’s execution by lethal injection is scheduled for Thursday.
Roberson, 57, is accused of shaking his 2-year-old daughter, Nikki Curtis, to death in the East Texas city of Palestine. Roberson has said he is innocent.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, can only grant clemency with a recommendation from the board.
