Republican nominee Donald J. Trump dismantled the haughty editor of the elite financial outlet Bloomberg during a lively exchange at The Economic Club of Chicago.

The former president and successful businessman appeared in front of business leaders who gathered at the Tuesday event which Kamala Harris declined to appear at for the obvious reason that she knows nothing about economic policy.

Trump repeatedly jousted with Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait with one memorable exchange with the neoliberal snob coming during a discussion about his economic policies.

“At the moment there is a thing called Trump trade in the markets,” Micklethwait said. “Do you know what that is? The Trump trade is very simple, people are betting that your policies are gonna drive up debt, they’re gonna drive up inflation, so they’re gonna drive up inflation… interest rates. Are the investors wrong?”

“I had four years, no inflation,” Trump responded. “I had four years no inflation,” drawing applause from the audience.

“I had four years, it’s better than that,” he continued.  “And Biden who has no idea where the hell he is, okay? Biden, went two years with no inflation because he inherited it from me. And then they started spending money like drunken sailors, they spent so much money, it was so ridiculous the money they were spending.”

“They were spending on the green new scam,” he said. “The green new scam. The Green New Deal. You know it was conceived of by AOC plus three, she never even studied the environment in college, she went to a nice college, she came out, she just said the green new scam. She just named all these things…”

Micklethwait interrupted. “The markets are looking at the facts, you are making all these promises, latest one was car loans, you’re flooding the thing with…giveaways. I was actually quite kind to you, I used $7 trillion. The upper estimate is $15 trillion and people like ‘The Wall Street Journal,’ which is hardly a communist organization, they have criticized you on this as well. You are running up enormous debt,” he said, filibustering and not allowing Trump to get a word in.

“What does The Wall Street Journal know?” Trump asked. “I’m meeting with them tomorrow, what does the Wall Street Journal know? They’ve been wrong about everything, so have you, by the way,” as the audience laughed and loudly cheered.

“You’re trying to turn this, you’re trying to turn this into a debate…” the elitist editor stammered.

“It’s not a debate, you’re wrong,” Trump shot back. “You’ve been wrong, you’ve been wrong all your life on this stuff…”

Trump’s smackdown of the Bloomberg editor was also a crowd-pleaser with X users, led by running mate Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) who relished seeing the smug media elitist taken down a peg.

“This entire interview is incredible. President Trump walking into the lion’s den and reminding the people who’ve screwed up the country that they’re not as smart as they think,” he wrote.

More reactions.

In another of the epic Trump moments, he refers to California Governor Gavin Newsom as “Newscum” drawing protest from Micklethwait who stuck up for his buddy.

“Forget about conservative, liberal. We’re, let’s say, conservative, but we’re really a party of ‘We need borders. We need fair elections. We don’t want men playing in women’s sports. We don’t want transgender operations without parental consent,’” Trump said. “It is 99.9% common sense. It really is common sense. I say we’re really a party of common sense, and we want to have great people in our country.”
