Billionaire Robert Kraft who owns the NFL’s New England Patriots franchise revealed why his relationship with former President Donald J. Trump has soured in recent years.

Kraft appeared on the nationally syndicated talk radio show “The Breakfast Club” on Friday where he chatted with host Charlamagne tha God and one of the topics during their wide-ranging conversation was the GOP nominee.

The NFL owner who is worth an estimated $11.8 billion acknowledged that he had donated to Trump in the past but had a falling out over his disapproval of his behavior after being elected as well as the so-called “insurrection” on January 6, 2021, which has laughably been portrayed as a serious attempt to overthrow the entire United States government.

“Donald Trump became a social friend in the early ‘90s when I was going down to Florida. And then when my wife…. died 13 years ago, he was one of four or five people who reached out to me and was really, really nice,” Kraft told the host.

“The only donation I ever gave to him was he called me when he got elected, and I made a strong donation to his inauguration. I couldn’t believe it, it was like having someone who was a drunk fraternity brother become president of the United States,” he said.

“I will say this,” Kraft stated. “I was very upset (with) what happened January 6. And I haven’t talked to [Trump] since then.”

Kraft was also “deeply disappointed” in then-President Donald J. Trump when he called out NFL players for their disgraceful kneeling and clenched fist-thrusting during the National Anthem in 2017.

“I am deeply disappointed by the tone of the comments made by the President on Friday,” he said in a statement. “I am proud to be associated with so many players who make such tremendous contributions in positively impacting our communities. Their efforts, both on and off the field, help bring people together and make our community stronger. There is no greater unifier in this country than sports and, unfortunately, nothing more divisive than politics.

After two decades of dominance that included six Super Bowl championships, the Patriots have become one of the NFL’s lousiest teams since Kraft allowed future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady to leave.

The generational talent won a seventh ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while the Pats have set new standards for suckitude, also jettisoning head coach Bill Belichick after the team struggled in the post-Brady era.

Taking the DEI plunge, Kraft and the organization chose to promote black activist assistant Jerod Mayo but to say that he has struggled to fill the coaching legend’s shoes is an understatement and after much hype and a premature minting of a Hall of Fame bust after a week-one road upset of the heavily favored Cincinnati Bengals, the Pats have dropped five games in a row, sinking to the bottom of the standings.

The team was clobbered 41-21 by the Houston Texans in Foxborough on Sunday.
