In an age where it feels like all the fun is happening online, two major names in outdoor recreation just teamed up to make hunting and fishing more accessible than ever.

BirdDog Adventures, a company that aims to bring ease of use to the outdoor experience through an AirBnB-like system, is partnering with Field & Stream to help more individuals and families find the perfect places to make memories.

Jonathan Lusk, CEO and co-founder of BirdDog Adventures, discussed the plan with Fox Business.

“We partner with landowners that have lodges, guides, game, and food, and we take photos of those ranches and then offer those spots for hunters to come and book, just like you would for Airbnb, but for hunting and fishing,” he said.

The desire came about after Lusk realized that 95% of the land in Texas, where the company was established, was privately owned. This made it harder for those breaking into outdoor recreation to know where to start since you either had to own a ranch yourself or know someone who does. Since the launch of his company, Lusk noted an increase in interest among novice hunters and those whose parents weren’t experienced in outdoor activities. “Because of this, BirdDog now spends a lot of time educating users and helping them become more comfortable shooting rifles and shotguns. BirdDog also offers various father-son and mother-daughter experiences to help keep the entire family engaged,” reports Fox Business.

“It’s really impacted their lives. I mean, these father-son hunts and mother-daughter hunts. People are saying, ‘Hey, I had something that I got to do with my kiddo that I never could have done myself, and it’s changed our life,’” the CEO explained. “You find them, you know, hunting more and more. And that’s really what we’re doing. We’re providing access to new and existing hunters. We’re providing education and then experiences that are really impacting them.”

Field & Stream Excursions, powered by BirdDog, can be located on both companies’ websites, and offers both luxury hunting experiences, and “priority access to private hunting land.”
