A man arrested outside the former president’s California rally spoke out after a local sheriff argued, “I truly do believe we prevented another assassination attempt.”

“These accusations are complete bullsh*t.”

Saturday, former President Donald Trump was met by tens of thousands of supporters as he held a rally in Coachella, California. Among them was 49-year-old Vem Miller, who, after being booked on weapons charges at a checkpoint for the event, denied reports suggesting he was there to do harm to the GOP leader.

“Yes, I’m 100% a Trump supporter,” he told Fox News Digital while acknowledging that having grown up a Democrat, he had supported the presidency of Barack Obama.

Noting that he was “all-in” for the Republican nominee, Miller added, “This is a man that I deeply admire because I was a closet individual in terms of my beliefs because I worked in Hollywood. As my politics started to change, I realized that Hollywood is a homogenous community.”

During a press conference Monday, Trump-endorsing Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco detailed the arrest and offered his take, “I truly do believe we prevented another assassination attempt.”

“What his frame of mind was, all we can do is speculate. If you’re asking me right now, I probably did have deputies that prevented the third assassination attempt,” he went on.

The sheriff went on to suggest Miller had given “all indications that he belonged there, that he was a participant who was allowed to enter into VIP in the press corps,” before officials discovered the suspect was driving an unregistered vehicle with an invalid license plate “indicative of a group of citizens that claim to be sovereign citizens.”

“The interior of the vehicle was in disarray. The vehicle had an obviously fake license plate, which prompted further investigation. During that investigation the deputy found multiple passports with multiple names, multiple driving license[s] with different names,” Bianco went on.

While the FBI considers members of the sovereign citizens’ movement to be “anti-government extremists” who, though they “physically reside in this country,” believe they are “separate or ‘sovereign’ from the United States,” avoid the justice system, taxes, and even traffic stops, Miller denied being a part of such a group.

He explained to Fox News, “None of those are fake,” concerning his passes and IDs and that he has some documents with his full Armenian name and some that don’t because being Armenian puts his life at risk in certain parts of the world.

“I’ve literally never even shot a gun in my life. I don’t know anything about guns,” he told Press-Enterprise. “These accusations are complete bullsh*t. I’m an artist, I’m the last person that would cause any violence and harm to anybody.”

As images of Miller attending Republican events in the past and posing with VIPs circulated, he told the outlet that he had received a special invitation to the rally as a caucus captain for Trump from the head of the Clark County Republican Party. He further contended that his vehicle was “ransacked” after he made clear at a checkpoint for the event that his trunk had firearms he argued he was lawfully carrying.

While he was ultimately released on $5,000 bail after being booked on weapons charges, he contended he was never told what he was being detained for and it was eight hours before he was given the opportunity to contact a lawyer.

Rising to the defense of Miller, independent journalist Mindy Robinson described him as both a “good friend and business partner for America Happens,” on X.

By her personal account, Miller’s exposure of a “Deep State cover-up involving the Feds and the Bundy Ranch scandal,” led her to believe “this is 100% some kind of set-up in retribution for exposing it. That, or Trump’s security team is a bunch of dipsh*ts trying to make up for how badly they failed in Pennsylvania with any kind of ‘win’ they can get, fake or not.”

“There isn’t a universe his intention was to kill Trump, he’s worked too hard in this movement to expose the Deep State and all the people against him. If he had guns in his car that were illegal, whooptie-f*cking-do. As a pro-2A advocate, ask if I give a sh*t about a good guy with a gun in an unsafe sh*thole like California. It doesn’t even make sense why his passes would be fake either when we’re both usually invited as media to these things,” she expressed.

Meanwhile, following the assassination attempts in July and September against Trump, and the arrest of a man outside a Trump Rally in Michigan last month with materials that could be used to make a bomb, U.S. Secret Service Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi released a joint statement on behalf of his agency, the Department of Justice and the FBI that said in part, “The US Secret Service assesses that the incident did not impact protective operations and former President Trump was not in any danger. While no federal arrest has been made at this time, the investigation is ongoing.”

For his part, Bianco spoke to the broader impact of attempts on the president’s life as he said during the press conference, “If we are that politically lost, that we can have lost sight of common sense and reality and reason that we can’t say ‘Holy crap, what did he show up with all of that stuff for?’…And I’m going to be accused of being dramatic? We have a serious, serious problem in this country. Because this is common sense and reason.”

While Miller was expected to appear in court on Jan. 2, 2025, a statement released to the media from Trump Communications Director Steven Cheung read, “We thank law enforcement for securing the rally site and helping ensure the safety of President Trump. We are aware of news reports about the arrest and are currently monitoring the situation and gathering more information.”
