A question regarding the alleged “palace coup” against President Joe Biden found the vice president giving a lecture to a voter leaning toward former President Donald Trump.

“…frankly sir…”

Ever averse to expanding beyond platitudes, Vice President Kamala Harris found herself working double time Thursday during the Univision Noticias town hall when confronted by an independent. As Mario Sigbaum’s favor for the GOP leader became known to the White House wannabe, she sidestepped concerns over the complete lack of a traditional primary to drive home talking points about her rival.

“This is not about a debate on trickle-down economic theory. It’s literally about do we support our democracy and the Constitution of the United States, or are we going to go on the path of somebody who is a sore loser and lost the election in 2020 and tried to have a violent mob undo it — a violent mob that attacked the United States Capitol, that injured 140 uniformed law enforcement officers — some died — to undo the will of the American people in a free and fair election?” Harris ranted rhetorically.

“And I think, frankly, sir, that is why some former Trump supporters are supporting me,” she said as she concluded a lengthy screed against the former president. “I think January 6th, for a lot of people, was just a bridge too far. It was just one step too far. So, I hope to earn your vote, and I thank you for your candor. Thank you.”

During the town hall, moderator Enrique Acevedo had turned to Uruguay-born American citizen Mario Sigbuam and translated on the California resident’s behalf as the man expressed, “I’m registered as an independent. I voted Democrat and Republican, but I’m confused right now.”

“You became a candidate without going through the primary sort of caucus, like it usually happens,” he went on. “I’m right now leaning towards Trump, but I haven’t made a decision. I’m also concerned about the way I feel President Biden was pushed aside.”

“Oh,” reacted Harris when reminded of the reality that she hadn’t received a single electoral vote in two consecutive elections, but had still been elevated to the position of Democratic Party nominee.

Continuing on Sigbaum’s behalf, Acevedo translated, “I think it’s extraordinary circumstances, given how close we are to the election…How do you respond to this process and how you — how you got the candidacy?”

Harris’s idea of an answer began, “First of all, thank you for being so candid and allowing me to answer the question. Thank you.”

“President Biden made a decision that I think history will show was probably one of the most courageous that a president could make, which is he decided to put country above his personal interest. And he made that decision. He very — within that same period of time, supported my candidacy and urged me to run. He and I have been partners for the last four years as his vice president to — to him as the president,” she continued before gaslighting, “And I am honored to have earned the Democratic nomination.”

From there, she proceeded to tout support from former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, former Vice President Dick Cheney and a slew of other self-styled Republicans before rehashing the Project 2025 narrative, claiming Trump wanted to be a dictator and advancing the latest installment of Russian collusion over the former president’s decision to send COVID-19 tests to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Elsewhere during the town hall, Harris had equally stonewalled a question about the economy when she’d kicked off a response to a voter struggling under Bidenomics impact on grocery prices with the canned response about coming from the working class adding, “I’m never going to forget what I come from,” without offering a policy point that would actually change to trajectory of the cost of living.
