An Ohio man was charged after police discovered weapons in his vehicle and the room of his room in Chicago Trump Tower, reports said Friday.

Brandon Peck, 21, from Oakwood, Ohio, was arrested Tuesday night after a Trump Tower employee noticed firearms prominently displayed in Peck’s room. This discovery triggered a significant response from Chicago police and SWAT teams. Subsequently, Peck was found and apprehended at the hotel gym, Fox 32 reported.

Peck informed officers that he had traveled from Ohio to accompany his mother and stepfather for a doctor’s appointment but was unaware of the appointment’s time and location, officials stated. He confessed to possessing two firearms in his hotel room and another in his vehicle parked in Trump Tower’s garage.

A search of Peck’s hotel room uncovered a Bear Creek Arsenal 10mm rifle, a semi-automatic Ruger, and a duffel bag containing several magazines, a firearm frame, and ammunition.

Investigators also found a semi-automatic SIG Sauer, additional magazines with live rounds, a black rifle bag, and a black scope in his vehicle.

According to court documents, Peck told officers that he had recently purchased the weapons, the report said.

Brandon Peck has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon for possessing loaded firearms without a concealed carry license or FOID card. Additionally, he faces a citation for possessing high-capacity magazines and metal-piercing bullets.

No injuries were reported during the incident, but authorities temporarily cordoned off the Trump Tower area while conducting the investigation, Fox 32 added. Trump was not in the area at the time, according to reports.

The former president was subjected to a pair of assassination attempts over the summer. He was nearly killed in Butler, Pa., on July 13 by Thomas Crooks, 20, who grazed the former president’s right ear while killing another rallygoer and wounding two others.

In September,, Secret Service agents managed to thwart another attempt at Trump’s golf course in Palm Beach as he was playing a round with a friend. Agents spotted a rifle barrel sticking out of a hedgerow near a green as Trump and his golf partner were approaching several hundred yards away. The suspect, Ryan Routh, has a sketchy background, including time spent in Ukraine.

After the second attempt, former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino suggested during his daily radio show the possibility of a “mole” within the agency or the wider Department of Homeland Security.

“I have to ask you all a really troubling question now that I promised you 10 years ago I would have called myself nuts for asking this,” Bongino said before a long pause. “Is there a mole inside the DHS or Secret Service?”

Bongino highlighted several documented cases of foreign nationals or governments attempting to infiltrate and undermine federal agencies. He cited a notable example where two individuals were convicted of impersonating federal agents in an elaborate scheme that deceived the Secret Service.

“Folks, what happened yesterday in Secret Service jargon, the movement to the golf, the golf course, Donald Trump going to play golf at the golf course is what we call an OTR. Stands for an off-the-record movement, meaning it’s not on the official schedule, meaning very few people have access to it,” Bongino explained.

“What makes me even more curious about what happened yesterday is apparently the decision to golf was made at the last minute. Meaning, there were probably – when the decision was made, less than 10 people who knew about it. How’d this guy know to set up there?”

“How did he know how to set up, and where to set up, and that Trump was going to be there? Folks, the mole may not be a foreign national himself. I don’t want you to think Jason Bourne stuff. Don’t overcomplicate what doesn’t need to be overcomplicated,” he continued.

“Is there a honeypot trap going on in the Secret Service? Is there a guy or a woman in the Secret Service having a relationship with someone who is not who they say they are? The Iranians have been running these traps in Israel and elsewhere. The Iranians who want to kill President Trump. Folks, how do we know that there’s not some kind of honeypot trap and that some agent or some DHS personnel, someone who has to be notified, is not in a relationship with someone?”
