Tennis star Rafael Nadal announced his retirement at the end of the year on Thursday.

According to ESPN, Nadal, 38, has won 22 Grand Slams, including 14 French Open titles.

“I’m here to let you know that I am retiring from professional tennis,” Nadal said in a video posted on social media. “The reality is that it has been some difficult years, these two especially. I don’t think I have been able to play without limitations. It is obviously a difficult decision, one that takes me some time to make.”

Nadal plans to play in the Davis Cup in Malaga from Nov. 19-21 before officially retiring.
