The roof at Tropicana Field, the home of the Tampa Bay Rays, was torn apart due to the high winds from Hurricane Milton on Wednesday in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Overhead photos and video showed many of the roof’s panels missing. It is unclear if the inside of the stadium was damaged in any way.

The team and the state said on Sunday that the field would serve as a “10,000-person base camp” to “support ongoing debris operations and post-landfall responders.”

Milton made landfall on Florida’s Gulf Coast late Wednesday night as a category 3 hurricane and weakened to a category 1 storm as of Thursday morning.

The storm has left more than 3 million homes and businesses without power.
