The vice president’s projection over Florida’s inbound hurricane had the governor slamming her as “delusional” while calling out her “political games.”

As Election Day nears to within four weeks, Vice President Kamala Harris is endeavoring to increase her imprint on the American public with a slew of interviews while memory-holing the blunders of Hurricane Helene.

In support of that strategy, she took a swing at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) amid allegations that he ignored a call from her over political reasons as Hurricane Milton barrels through the Gulf of Mexico toward the Sunshine State.

Having swatted down that claim earlier Monday during an update on hurricane preparations, he joined Fox News’ Sean Hannity on his show to set the record straight with a body blow to the Harris Campaign’s antics.

“We’ve been laser-focused on leveraging all resources available, including from the federal government. And I’ve been in touch with both FEMA and the president, as well as marshaling all our state agencies, and working to support our local communities,” said DeSantis. “And so for Kamala Harris to try to say that my sole focus on the people of Florida is somehow selfish, is delusional.”

“Make no mistake, Hurricane Helene is Kamala’s Katrina,” Hannity said, prompting the governor about preparations by pointing out the “food, water, medicine, supplies ready to go,” and “30,000 utility trucks” that were in waiting.

“No, you’re right, and Hurricane Helene was a Category 4 storm. It did significant damage to the state of Florida. We’ve been on this footing now for two weeks straight in terms of preparation response. Now we have an even bigger storm that’s bearing down, as you pointed out, on a very populated area. Potentially could do even more damage,” the executive laid out.

DeSantis further put Harris in her place by stating, “She has no role in this. In fact, she’s been vice president for three-and-a-half years. I’ve dealt with a number of storms under this administration. She has never contributed anything to any of these efforts. And so what I think is selfish is her trying to blunder into this.”

Earlier in the day while on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews, Harris insinuated herself into a leadership role in response to Milton and responded to allegations that the governor had ignored a call from her.

“You know, moments of crisis, if nothing else, should really be the moment that anyone who calls themselves a leader says they’re going to put politics aside and put the people first,” the White House hopeful pontificated behaving in a manner she herself was criticizing. “People are in desperate need of support right now and playing political games at this moment in these crisis situations, these are the height of emergency situations, is just utterly irresponsible, and it is selfish and it is about political gamesmanship instead of doing the job that you took an oath to do, which is to put the people first.”

Hannity asked DeSantis if the vice president had ever called before to which the governor responded, “No, and here’s the thing… She has no role in this process.”

“I’m in contact with the president of the United States. I’m in contact with FEMA director. I’m obviously managing all our state agencies. We’re supporting all our local governments. And I will say this,” he continued, contrasting Harris with the former president and her own administration. “I’ve had storms under both President Trump and President Biden. And I’ve worked well with both of them. She’s the first one who’s trying to politicize the storm.”

“And she’s doing that just because of her campaign,” asserted America’s Governor. “She’s trying to get some type of an edge. She knows she’s doing poorly. And so she’s playing these political games. I don’t have time for political games. I’ve got people whose lives are on the line.”

“I’ve got people whose homes and their possessions are on the line. And we are focused 100% on that mission. I’m not worried about playing her political games. And so she is being selfish by trying to blunder into this when we’re working just fine,” he added.

The response to Hannity followed an earlier smackdown of the press who had tried to spin up the narrative while he provided an update on preparations for Milton, “I didn’t know that she had called. I’m not sure who they called. They didn’t call me…wasn’t anything that anybody in my office did, in terms of saying it was political.”

He further asserted, “I didn’t know that she had called,” and that “we have gotten what we need from the feds…the president has approved what we asked for… I’m thankful for that.”

“Everything we’ve asked for from President Biden, he’s approved,” noted the governor who responded to the questioning reporter, “You and your publication will twist anything that’s done to try to make a political agenda. That’s what you do, that’s how you get your clicks. I understand that. I understand that’s the business model…but I don’t want to talk about politics…I don’t want to participate in it.”

“I think some of these questions are trying to create some type of political angle where there’s just none there,” stated DeSantis who earned praise on social media.
