CNN’s Brian Stelter delivered his unsolicited take on Vice President Kamala Harris’s controversial appearance on a recent podcast.
The network media analyst, who returned to CNN two years after being fired, weighed in on the Democrat presidential nominee’s interview on “Call Her Daddy,” a podcast known for its raunchy sexual content.
Harris was raked over the coals for her appearance weeks before the election and as the nation deals with pressing issues on many fronts, including an epic disaster across multiple states in the wake of deadly Hurricane Helene.

Podcast host Alex Cooper was also criticized by her own fans for taking on a political guest when the show is known for its graphic sex talk.

Along came Stelter to the rescue, calling out critics “insulting Harris and slut-shaming Cooper.”
“So much ugly misogyny on this site today reacting to Harris going on ‘Call Her Daddy,’” he wrote in a post on X.
“If the people insulting Harris and slut-shaming Cooper actually listen to the episode, they’ll find it’s full of personal and political insights, and they’ll get why Cooper is filthy rich,” he added.
During the episode, Cooper asked Harris why she had decided to come on the normally non-political show. The VP delivered one of her usual word-salad responses.
“Well, I think you are your listeners have really got this thing right,” she said. “Which is one of the best ways to communicate with people is to be real, you know, and to talk about the things that people really care about.”
“What I love about what you do is that your voice and show is really about your listeners,” she continued. “And I think especially now, this is a moment in the country’s history and in life where people really want another scene and heard and that they’re part of a community. That they’re not out there alone, and so um, I’m really glad to be with you.”
Not surprisingly, Harris was blasted for this and other softball interviews at a time when voters are demanding more substance from the nominee who could potentially become president. And the unserious interviews amid a deadly natural disaster across multiple states did little to endear her to suffering Americans.
But Stelter’s grandstanding was icing on the cake and he was roasted on social media for his “white knight” response.
Hey Brian- quick question: what was going on in our country while she was filming the podcast?
Follow up question: how would you have reacted if Bush had been filming a similar podcast while Katrina was hitting New Orleans?

Brian Stelter trying his hardest to white knight here when the podcast literally promotes sexual promiscuity is hilarious.

Alex Cooper is never going to sleep with you. Also, you’re never going to convince intelligent women like me that telling other women to be soulless wh@res is the road to happiness, success and personal accomplishment and fulfillment.

You know what she should do to combat misogyny? Go on the Stern show. Nothing says pro-woman like a good ride on the Sybian.

Trust me Brian: we think Kamala and Alex are idiots and its NOT because they’re female lol
Did you ever hear what your colleagues have called Melania Trump and any prominent conservative woman?

Can you point out any of this theoretical misogyny?
I’ve yet to see any.

Are we seriously pretending that podcast is not about sexual promiscuity? https://t.co/xXL1vkVugi

In fairness, Stelter is the epitome of an asexual human being/thing.

If you don’t want to be slut-shamed, don’t be a slut.
