The marriage between neocon war hawks and Democrats was consummated Thursday when rejected Republican Liz Cheney campaigned alongside Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in Ripon, Wisconsin, the birthplace of the Republican Party.

Cheney, the daughter of the king of neocons, former Vice President Dick Cheney, stuck to the tried and true script that offers her a last chance at political relevancy after GOP voters thoroughly rejected her in 2022 following her smearing of former President Donald Trump.

The 2024 Republican nominee responded to the development being widely touted by Democrats to say the “stupid war hawk” will not hurt his election chances — if anything, it’s likely to motivate voters to back Trump.

“We may disagree on some things, but we are bound together by the other thing that matters to us as Americans, more than any other, and that is our duty to our Constitution and our belief in the miracle and the blessing of this great nation,” she said. “I ask you to stand in truth, to reject the depraved cruelty of Donald Trump and I ask you instead to help us elect Kamala Harris for president.”

Oddly, Cheney did not include the shared lust for war in Ukraine but she did play the sexist card.

“I know that she can be a president that can inspire our children… and especially our little girls to do great things,” she added.

Cheney also drummed up the ghosts of Jan. 6, 2020, regurgitating Democratic talking points while spewing the same type of rhetoric that has resulted in two attempts on Trump’s life this year.

“What January 6 shows us is that there is not an ounce – not an ounce – of compassion in Donald Trump,” she said. “He is petty, he is vindictive, and he is cruel, and Donald Trump is not fit to lead this good and great nation.”

“Donald Trump was willing to sacrifice our Capitol, to allow law enforcement officers to be beaten and brutalized in his name, and to violate the law and the Constitution in order to seize power for himself,” Cheney added. “I don’t care if you are a Democrat or a Republican or an independent. That is depravity. And we must never become numb to it. Any person who would do these things can never be trusted with power again.”

Harris proudly accepted the assist and yearned for a return to “a healthy two-party system” — a system where the GOP of old regularly capitulated to Democrats, securing their own personal hold on power often at the expense of the nation.

“We may not see eye to eye on every issue and we are going to get back to a healthy two-party system, I am sure of that, where we will have vigorous debates,” Harris said of Cheney. “We both love our country and revere our Democratic ideals. And we both also believe in the nobility of public service. And, we know that our oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America is a sacred oath.”

When asked by Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin to respond, Trump was quick to dismiss any impact Cheney may have.

“Well, Liz Cheney lost for Congress – she was terrible,” Trump replied. “Liz Cheney is a stupid war hawk. All she wants to do is shoot missiles at people… I really think it hurts. I think, frankly, if Kamala– I think they hurt each other. I think they’re so bad, both of them.”

Social media users seemed to agree with Trump — here is a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on Elon Musk’s free speech platform X:
