Democratic strategist James Carville tore into Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign for not pushing back harder on Obamacare claims made by Sen. JD Vance.

Carville tore into the Harris-Walz campaign during angry remarks on the Politics War Room podcast, reacting to this week’s vice presidential debate between Vance and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. Specifically, Carville noted the importance of the healthcare issue to American voters and ripped the campaign for not doing a better job rebutting Vance’s claim that former President Donald Trump “salvaged” the Affordable Care Act (ACA) while he was in office.

The longtime Democrat consultant reminded listeners that the ACA is “a law that is important to people” and that healthcare is a dominant issue for voters.

“Why isn’t Harris herself out today talking about that,” he said on the podcast Thursday. “Get off your a–. Move, move, move!”

He blasted Vance’s claim as “an out-and-out lie” while urging Harris to get before cameras and push back.

“What the f— are y’all doing in the Harris campaign, get her out there now, now!” he said. “They ought to have Obama and Nancy Pelosi and they ought to do a Zoom call with the national media. I mean kick the crap out of this now, use everything.”

“[Trump] did everything in his power to destroy it and this is not an issue that people don’t care about,” Carville claimed. “It’s not a nitpicking thing and I got to tell you, the White House response and I think by and large, to a large extent, the press response is not at all measured to the gravity of this lie, of the importance of this. You’re lying about people’s g–damn lives.”

“What the f— are you people doing,” he demanded. “Get off your a–. Move, move, move!”

During Tuesday’s debate, Vance had said, “When Obamacare was crushing under the weight of its own regulatory burden and health care costs, Donald Trump could have destroyed the program.”

“Instead, he worked in a bipartisan way to ensure that Americans had access to affordable care,” the Ohio senator added.

Speaking with CNN host Kaitlin Collins on Wednesday, Carville wondered why the campaign had not “just gone crazy” over Vance’s claim about Obamacare.

“Why haven‘t they just gone crazy over Vance saying that Donald Trump saved Obamacare?” Carville said. “That‘s pants-on-fire, 5-star 20 Pinocchio B.S. and it‘s a great issue for us.”

“I don‘t know why they did not kick in that thing — why they don‘t have [Vice President Kamala] Harris out there, President [Barack] Obama, former Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi, everybody,” the 79-year-old strategist added. “Like, what are you talking about?”

He continued his attacks on Trump while still urging the Harris-Walz campaign to hit the ground running on the issue.

“He did everything he could to kill ObamaCare. And that‘s my — I thought it was fine,” he said. “I thought the governor did fine. I thought JD Vance was good at sentence construction, which is a kind of minimum, but he was all right at that. But I just — somebody please, please go kick this ObamaCare Trump story.
