According to John Kerry, the First Amendment is a “major block” because it prevents the government from censoring politically incorrect speech, even though the whole point of the First Amendment is to do just that.

Tyrants don’t censor “misinformation”; they censor anything they deem a threat to their regime. So when John Kerry states the Constitution allows “misinformation” to spread he means that the government should punish people for wrongthink.

According to Fox News:

The former Secretary of State took part in a World Economic Forum panel on Green Energy on Wednesday. Near the end of the panel, a member of the audience asked what can be done to push back against disinformation surrounding climate change online.

“You know there’s a lot of discussion now about how you curb those entities in order to guarantee that you’re going to have some accountability on facts, etc. But look, if people only go to one source, and the source they go to is sick, and, you know, has an agenda, and they’re putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence,” Kerry said. “So what we need is to win the ground, win the right to govern, by hopefully winning enough votes that you’re free to be able to implement change.”

In other words, for the government to decide what’s factually correct, the people must elect politicians who vow to destroy freedom. And only then will the government have the “right to govern” your thoughts.

Additionally, it does not appear he cares about this little thing called “Democracy.”

“The dislike of and anguish over social media is just growing and growing. It is part of our problem, particularly in democracies, in terms of building consensus around any issue. It’s really hard to govern today. The referees we used to have to determine what is a fact and what isn’t a fact have kind of been eviscerated, to a certain degree. And people go and self-select where they go for their news, for their information. And then you get into a vicious cycle,” Kerry said.

LOL. According to Kerry, only the government should decide what is factually correct, even though what the government defines as factual is often political. Additionally, groupthink is also the deciding factor, and people having the freedom to choose what sources to listen to is not something that should be awarded to the people, and a “free society” is not a factual society.

In another comment, Kerry remarked, “Democracies around the world now are struggling with the absence of a sort of truth arbiter, and there’s no one who defines what facts really are.”

So what happens when the “truth arbiter” is wrong? Will that unelected bureaucrat be held accountable?

The fact that the Dems have no shame in their tyrannical game is concerning, as they are no longer bothered to hide that they are the antithesis of democracy.

He added, “If we could strip away some of the fearmongering that’s taking place and get down to the realities of what’s here for people, this is the biggest economic opportunity.”

The Constitution affords you the right to police the government and hold them accountable. That’s why the Dems hate it so much, as they wish to control every part of your life to the point they police your thoughts.

Even if the Dems wished to fight “misinformation,” which they don’t, the First Amendment was never conditional on truth, which makes it an awful excuse to begin with. This is because you cannot control facts by restricting thoughts, that’s not how these things work.

When they claim they wish to control information they mean they intend to control the narrative, as the cowardly propagandist they are.

The worst part about this is how insane the masses would have to be to accept the fact that the government can control the direction of the wind if only they taxed you for breathing. That is a level of tyranny the government was never intended to have.

If these people had truth on their side when it came to climate change then they wouldn’t have to convince the masses that climate change is a thing that only bureaucracy can end. And the fact that nearly every prediction regarding this has failed to come to fruition proves even further why Americans must protect themselves against government-sponsored misinformation.

Tyrants don’t wish to censor lies, they wish to control the narrative. And that is exactly what Kerry means when he claims the left must “win the right to govern.”
