Billionaire Mark Cuban was ripped on social media after he gave Elon Musk some unsolicited advice about supporting former President Donald Trump.

The “Shark Tank” investor warned Musk in a post on X about aligning himself with Trump, cautioning that the Republican presidential nominee will ultimately betray him. To many on the social media platform owned by Musk, this sounded a lot like “projecting” from Cuban.

The two have engaged in word battles before but this time, Musk triggered Cuban with a post on how Trump is needed in order to save democracy, reacting to an X post about migrants being eligible for naturalization.

“Very few Americans realize that, if Trump is NOT elected, this will be the last election,” the Tesla CEO wrote on X. “Far from being a threat to democracy, he is the only way to save it!”

“Let me explain: if even 1 in 20 illegals become citizens per year, something that the Democrats are expediting as fast as humanly possible, that would be about 2 million new legal voters in 4 years,” Musk continued. “The voting margin in the swing states is often less than 20 thousand votes. That means if the “Democratic” Party succeeds, there will be no more swing states!!”

He added that the Biden administration has been flying “asylum seekers” into swing states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Arizona, which he warned is “a surefire way to win every election.”

While many reacted to Musk’s message by agreeing and adding other facts about the migrant crisis wrought by the Biden-Harris administration, Cuban decided Musk’s support of Trump and his policies warranted an intervention.

“Elon, there will come a time when you need something from Donald Trump,” he wrote. “You will think you will have earned the right to ask and receive. You have been a loyal, faithful soldier for him. You have supported him politically with 10s of millions of dollars.”

“Then, at the point you need him the most, you will find out what so many before you have learned, his loyalty is only to himself.”

Last week, Cuban’s head-scratching support of Vice President Kamala Harris was mocked by Musk.

In the wave of reactions that followed his post, Cuban at one point referred to X’s own AI chatbot, Grok, regarding his response to Musk.

He insisted his comments were not political.

But for all his sputtering self-defense, Cuban was raked over the coals for what seemed like a classic case of “sour grapes.”
