X Owner Elon Musk responded to criticism of Donald Trump on Sunday; journalist John Stossel expressed doubt that Trump can “drain the swamp” since he failed to get the job done the first time.

“Trump admits he failed to drain the Washington swamp. But, he insists, if you elect him this time, he’ll get it done. I doubt it. Government only grows,” Stossel said, along with a video.

“He doesn’t need to be reelected this time and many people, myself included, will help him reform government,” Musk replied. “The swamp will be drained.”

From The Daily Wire:

Musk, who owns X and other companies such as Tesla and SpaceX, endorsed Trump this summer after the former president survived an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

Since that time, Musk told Trump he “would be happy to help” with a prospective Government Efficiency Commission to cut wasteful spending, an idea which Trump said he would “love” to happen.

Also on Sunday, in response to a post on X warning that millions of migrants are eligible for naturalization under the current rules, Musk argued in favor of a Trump return to the White House.

“Very few Americans realize that, if Trump is NOT elected, this will be the last election. Far from being a threat to democracy, he is the only way to save it!” Musk exclaimed.
