A representative for Janet Jackson claims he was fired by the singer after he released an apology on her behalf that she did not authorize.

Jackson made headlines when she spoke about Vice President Kamala Harris and her race over the weekend, setting off a frenzy of reaction when she reportedly said she’d heard the Democrat nominee is “not black.”

Buzzfeed reported that Jackson’s manager, Mo Elmasri provided a statement that read, “She deeply respects Vice President Kamala Harria and her accomplishments as a black and Indian woman. Janet apologizes for any confusion caused and acknowledges the importance of accurate representation in public discourse.”

But by Monday morning, Elmasri was telling the Daily Beast that he was out of a job.

“Janet Jackson fired me due to disagreements between me, her, and Randy [Jackson], after her meeting with the Guardian and her unbalanced statements,” the man who claimed to be Jackson’s manager, said via email. “That’s all I can say,”

He told the outlet he could not “receive phone calls due to the large number of calls,” and added, “All support to Kamala Harris.”

Harris, whose father is Jamaican and mother is Indian, was the topic of discussion when Jackson spoke with the Guardian.

“Well, you know what they supposedly said? She’s not black. That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian,” the “Rhythm Nation” singer said. “Her father’s white, that’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days. I was told that they discovered her father was white.”

“I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t want to answer that because I really truthfully don’t know. I think either way it goes is going to be mayhem,” Jackson added after host Nosheen Iqbal sought to clarify the facts.

Harris supporters came out in droves to slam the 59-year-old sister of legendary Michael Jackson. She was raked over the coals for her remarks which were followed by the “apology” issued by Elmasri.

A rep for Jackson told People on Sunday that Elmasri’s statement was unauthorized. Further, the rep noted that Elmasri “is not Janet’s manager, nor is he affiliated with her camp,” clarifying that Randy Jackson is the singer’s manager.

Elmasri told Variety, “I no longer work for her.”

“I was fired by Janet and Randy, after attempts to improve her image in front of public opinion and her fans, and this is something I do not deserve,” he reportedly told the outlet in an email, adding, “All my support” to Vice President Harris.
