If you know any liberals at all you won’t be surprised by this poll.

28% of Democrats think we’d be better off if Trump had been shot dead.

And that 28% of liberals who think we’d be better off with a deceased Trump isn’t even the most important number here.

Fewer than half (48%) of Democrats could bring themselves to say that America would not be better off if the opposing party’s candidate for president had been assassinated.

The other 24% of Democrats were “not sure” if America would be better off with a dead Trump. I’ll assume these people were just holding their tongues.

Across the political spectrum, a full 17% of Americans answered that yes, America would be better today if Trump had been killed.

Here are a few more highlights from the poll:

Despite two assassination attempts in two months, just over half of all Democrats (51%) don’t see a need to increase Trump’s security detail. Among all voters, 62% think Trump’s security should be increased and 32% disagree.

Who would need more security after two attempts on his life? That’s crazy talk! Our government has more important things to spend money on, like transgender operations for kids in Zimbabwe!

Forty-nine percent (49%) of Democrats think it’s at least somewhat likely that Trump himself or the Trump campaign was involved with the assassination attempt, with 21% saying it was very likely. Fifty-two percent (52%) of Republicans think it’s at least somewhat likely that the Democratic Party or the Harris campaign was involved, with 28% saying it’s very likely.

Half of all Democrats think Trump is staging these assassination attempts while half of all Republicans think the Democratic Party was involved in the attempts.

To be honest, this is amazing. Half of the country thinks these assassinations were staged. We’re just split down the middle as to who the culprit is.

What a time to be alive.
