Democrats and their media mouthpieces have created a dangerous environment for Republicans whose safety is now at risk from constant demonization and in the case of the party’s nominee, it could cost him his life.

On Monday’s edition of “Outnumbered” on Fox News, the crew discussed the second failed assassination attempt against former President Donald J. Trump and the role of leftists in creating a poisonous atmosphere pitting Americans against one another unlike anything seen since the actual Civil War.

With the rhetoric having now been further ratcheted up over the Haitian migrants in Springfield, OH, and the alleged eating of cats, the country is now headed to a very bad place unless cooler heads prevail now that the Democratic Party has put all Republicans in the “Hitler box” and seem to be itching to start a new civil war.

“There hadn’t been a presidential assassination attempt before all of this in 40 years,” guest co-host Martha Martha MacCallum noted. “We’re living in a very different moment right now and it worries me that people become inured to it, complacent, as if it doesn’t matter, as if this isn’t a huge deal.”

“I mean this is a very frightening era we’re living in and it’s true,” she continued. “People have said that he’s a threat to democracy… Kamala Harris said this is the worst situation since the Civil War, the threat that all of this faces,” referring to the Democrat nominee’s inflammatory rhetoric, adding that there is an openly expressed “by any means necessary” mission of leftists to prevent Trump from returning to the White House.

“That sort of gives people the idea that it doesn’t matter what you do, you have to prevent this, and that’s very dangerous,” MacCallum said.

Kayleigh McEnany then chimed in, “When you look at this, there’s these overt dehumanizing comments, and then there’s also the lies that have been told. If you have believed the rhetoric of the left, you believe Donald Trump is someone that wants a bloodbath. Donald Trump is someone who praised the neo-Nazis in Charlottesville. Both false.”

“Donald Trump with the national abortion ban, Donald Trump supports Project 2025, these are all lies,” she said, showing a post to X by House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) a top congressional Democrat leader, lying about Project 2025, and insisting Trump and Republicans must be stopped mere minutes after the news of the foiled assassination broke.

Fox News contributor Paul Mauro took over.

“You know, where this devolves to is the very simple statement,” he said. “The right believes the left is wrong, the left believes the right is evil, and that means that anything is justified.”

“If you can manage to put somebody in the Hitler box, which they throw at us all the time — they used to do the same thing with Bush. People think all this is new,” he added, referring to former President George W. Bush who was also called Hitler, although not with the intensity directed at Trump. “I remember this going on with W. And if you can put people in that box, then what are you doing? You’re saving democracy, you’re saving the world.”

“So anything is justified. And now you see it in the statements that you’re referring to, from Jefferies and even that first commentator on the air saying it’s the supporters as well. So, you know, what is that advocating? Where does that go? Where does that end up? Civil war? What do you want with that kind of rhetoric?” Mauro asked. “Let’s grow up.”
