Her endorsement led to over 337,000 of her followers to click on and visit the Vote.gov website link, according to the General Services Administration (GSA).

A GSA spokesperson informed media members that 337,826 users had visited the website within the first 24 hours, through Swift’s custom directory hyperlink, which provided visitors with voter information.

“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift stated on Instagram. “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”

Swift’s endorsement post now has over 10 million likes and her endorsement has been featured to her followers.

“I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice,” Swift added. “Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. I’ll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story.”

Additionally, Swift urged voters to register during her Wednesday VMA award acceptance speech at MTV’s Video Music Awards, where she won “best collaboration” for the song “Fortnight” with Post Malone.

“Thank you to MTV for giving me this opportunity to thank the fans for what you’ve done and the fact that this is a fan-voted award and you voted for this, I appreciate it so much,” she stated. “And if you’re over 18, people register to vote. That is something else that is very important.”

Following Swift’s endorsement, the Harris campaign attempted to take advantage of the momentum, urging Swift fans to donate in a campaign email. Additionally, anti-Trump liberal media personalities like Rachel Maddow of MSNBC informing Democrat VP nominee Tim Walz on her program.

“Will you join Taylor Swift in supporting Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign? A donation of $25 – or any amount that’s right for you – is the best way to have an impact right now,” the email stated, begging for more money.
