With three issues top of mind, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) explained why former President Donald Trump’s debate strategy against Vice President Kamala Harris should be “Let Harris talk.”

Though some weren’t holding their breath counting on the Democratic Party nominee showing up for the Tuesday contest against the GOP leader, the border governor saw a simple path forward when going toe-to-toe with the word salad-serving border czar.

Speaking with Fox News Digital amid the backdrop of his address to the annual Republican Jewish Coalition leadership meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, Abbott brought up the current administration’s failures at the border, on the budget, and with handling criminality as he petitioned Trump to let Harris dig her own hole on the issues in front of the American people.

“The more she talks without talking into a teleprompter, the more she shows America that she’s really not up to the task,” he argued as the vice president has avoided holding a press conference for weeks since her bump to the top of the ticket.

“And so, if he lets her talk and if he focuses on three issues — one is the border, another is inflation caused by Harris and [President Joe] Biden, and the other is the rampant crime that we see in some cities, caused by people like Harris and [Minnesota Gov. Tim] Walz — America is gonna understand the last thing they want to do is to have Kamala Harris running our country,” said the Lone Star State leader, “because it would be run into the ground.”

After he himself had earned the endorsement of Trump for his 2022 re-election campaign, Abbott had come out in support of the president’s third White House bid while debates were thinning the field of primary challengers.

Having every intention of seeking a fourth consecutive term as Texas executive, Abbott went on to suggest to Fox News Digital how his campaigning for the president would impact the race. “I will remain on the campaign trail for President Trump because no one knows more about what’s going on on the border than I do. And Americans need to learn the reality, both of how the policy changed under Biden-Harris and what Kamala Harris would do to pretty much put America on a pathway of destruction.”

“During his first term, we worked well, especially on border security-based issues. But it’s gonna be better this time in part because he will come to office knowing far more than he did when he entered office last time, knowing which levers to pull, what can be done, the strategies and how to quickly take care of it,” added the governor whose Operation Lone Star had helped make the border crisis an unavoidable issue.

“I’ve talked to him in recent times about what his plans are,” Abbott noted, looking ahead to working with Trump to undo the impact of the globalist open border policies. “He’s gonna be far more aggressive this time than he was last time because he has to find a way to course correct from all the damage caused to the United States by Harris and Biden.”
